Synopsis: | The friendship between Parvez, a Pakistani taxi driver, and Bettina, a young prostitute, develops into a deeper and more passionate relationship as Parvez's home life gradually crumbles. Everything comes to a head when Farid and his group decide to rid the town of its corrupting influence. Parvez is forced to decide just where his loyalties lie.The film is based on the short story of the same title written by Hanif Kureishi. | |
