Synopsis: | Portrait of Donald Rodney, an artist with sickle cell anaemia who looks at the nature of sexuality, masculinity and race in his works of art. The film also introduces other artists who talk about the ideas, ideals and themes they share with Rodney and his work. The art predominantly deals with their cultural heritage, with gender and the dichotomy between black and white. All artists turn the experience of pain - whether physical or psychological - into a productive power. | |
