Synopsis:This TV drama is set in the Asian communities of Accrington and Manchester. Shikha, a 17-year-old Bengali girl, is the oldest of three daughters in a patriarchal family. Her father expects her to enter university and become a doctor. He feels betrayed by his daughter when she is seen together with her Muslim boyfriend. Shikha escapes her father's rage and finds shelter in a woman's refuge in London. However, her father's need to contain and frustrate her life is not yet over. No viewing copy available.
