Synopsis:'Sixty-Four Day Hero' examines the tragic life of Randolph Turpin, 'The Leamington Licker', who at 23 defeated Sugar Ray Robinson in 1951 to become middleweight champion of the world for just 64 days. Following a decline into scandal, bankruptcy and humiliation, Turpin shot himself in 1966. Sportswriter/novelist Gordon Williams ('Straw Dogs') investigates the puzzle through archive material and interviews. No viewing copy available.
