Synopsis: | For this sociological survey, five thousand people of West Indian and Asian descent were interviewed parallel to a comparison group of nearly two and a half thousand white Britons. The questions referred to vocation, unemployment, housing in relation to geographical location, educational background and household structure. This analysis reveals to what extent black people were locked into declining occupations in decaying areas. | |
